The NSpine Canada Masterclass - an exceptional event

Our special “Masterclass” is now established as the premier case discussion forum; renowned not only the discussion of complex cases, but importantly for the engagement and the friendly atmosphere of the debates.

Each Masterclass combines 6 hours of CME accredited sessions together extended free time for informal networking and other pursuits.

Included in your package is the course fee, hotel accommodation and breakfast, as well as networking dinners in the Hotel Fairmont Chateau famed restaurants. Partners and families are welcome to attend.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a UNESCO heritage site and  affords the perfect location to encourage clear thought and debate in the NSpine sessions balanced with the splendours and relaxation of winter recreation in your free time.

Many of our participants return each year confirming the event as their most valuable professional learning experience.

Faculty

5 expert international faculty moderate and discuss cases each day. Most faculty change for each group with different cases being presented for each group

  • The complexity is at expert level and covers unusual cases, technical challenges, custom solutions and complications – typically around 30 cases are covered per day

Content

  • Trauma / Oncology / Adult & Pediatric Deformity / Degenerative are the primary focus.
  • Discussions and cases can however expand into any area of interest especially complex subspecialty cases

Topics

Each day will feature a number of cases presented by faculty and delegates that illustrate the theme of the session – there is however substantial freedom to take the discussions and cases into the areas of most interest to delegates. Specific topics can be requested in advance and delegates are welcome to bring own cases for discussion.

Winter Sports

With six hours of CME accredited academic sessions per day (applied for pending confirmation), the extended lunch break from 11:30 – 16:30 offers ample time to pursue winter sports or relax in the Kulm Spa.

Located right at the ski slopes, the Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa is the perfect ski-in ski-out starting point. Equipment is stored at the hotel entrance ski room and you can look forward to preheated ski boots !

Networking

Building a strong peer network is essential in high risk professions such as spine surgery.

Kulm is the ideal setting for academic exchange, honest case discussions and getting to know each other.

Combining academic debate with skiing breaks is ideal and many friendships have been forged in Arosa.

Every day is concluded with a networking dinner in one of the excellent Kulm restaurants. Partners and familes are most welcome to attend.

Typically, the fireside discussions continue well into the night, on occasion transitioning into piano playing and song !

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Situated on the shores of the iconic turquoise lake and surrounded by breathtaking mountain peaks, the venue provides a serene and inspiring atmosphere.

With state-of-the-art meeting facilities, luxurious accommodations, and world-class dining options, this location is perfect for an immersive and focused case-based masterclass.

Getting there

Although Lake Louise is located in the Canadian Rockies, it is easily accessible by air and road.

The nearest international airport is Calgary International Airport (YYC), providing excellent connections for domestic and international travelers.

By Air

Calgary International Airport offers the most convenient access. From there, a scenic drive of approximately 2 hours (200 km) brings you directly to Lake Louise. Several professional shuttle services and private car transfers contacts will be made available.

By Train

For a truly memorable journey, the Rocky Mountaineer luxury train offers an exceptional travel experience through the Canadian Rockies, stopping in nearby Banff. From Banff, it’s a 40-minute drive to Lake Louise, with transportation services available.

By Car

The drive to Lake Louise via the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) is straightforward and well-maintained year-round. The journey from Calgary takes approximately 2 hours, while travel from Banff takes around 40 minutes. Winter tires or chains are recommended during snowy conditions.

Delegate Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all payments/registrations made for NSpine events. By using the online payment facility you implicitly accept these general terms and conditions.

Liability
In registering for any NSpine event you agree to not hold NSpine or the venue of the event responsible for personal injury or any adverse health effect including COVID infection. You are requested to obtain your own travel, health and personal injury insurance.

Cancellation policy & refunds

– Up to 1st of June 2025: 90% Refund less 25 Euros administration fees.
– Between the 2nd of June and 1st of August 2025: 45% refund less 25 Euros administration fees.
– After 2nd of August 2025: no refund.

Cancellations are only accepted in writing.

NSpine cannot guarantee availability of presence of advertised faculty.
Liability: in participating in the event as a delegate, you agree that neither the Organizing Committee nor the secretariat assume any liability whatsoever.
Delegates are requested to make their own arrangements in respect of insurance.

Participation in NSpine educational activities is contingent upon operational feasibility and programme viability. NSpine expressly reserves the right to cancel, postpone or amend any course, workshop, or related session—either in entirety or in part—under the following circumstances:

– Insufficient enrolment to guarantee educational quality
– Material changes to the scheduled curriculum or faculty lineup
– Logistical or administrative constraints
– Unforeseen speaker unavailability
– Force majeure events, governmental restrictions, or other unpredictable occurrences beyond NSpine’s control

In the event of such cancellation or modification, NSpine will notify all registered delegates without undue delay. Where an event is cancelled by NSpine for the reasons outlined above, participants will receive a full refund of the course fee.

To the fullest extent permitted under applicable European Union consumer protection regulations, NSpine shall bear no further liability for indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or loss of earnings. Delegates waive any additional claims for compensation against NSpine.

NSpine reserves the right of admission.
